SAN DIEGO
Liz and Matt have a really great love story. It goes a little something like this…They both had Match.com dating profiles and ended up connecting there. After a few chats, they decided their first date would be a workout at Orangetheory Fitness. First of all can I just say how ballsy that is?! Can I use the word ballsy in a wedding blog post? Hmmm…anyway I say that because here’s the thing, you are meeting someone that you are interested in dating, for the first time, and you’ve invited them to see you sweat, while making exercise faces, not really getting to talk because you’re busy…exercising, and then when they do finally get to talk to you, it’s post exercise. I don’t know about you, but that’s definitely not my best look. Bravo to both of them for the extreme bravery and also for getting a workout in no matter what!
Well I don’t know if it was the post-exercise endorphins or what, but they both fell hard for each other! Fast forward about a year later and they decided to call it quits. Separating seemed best at the time because they were going in different directions. It was very hard thing for both of them to go through at the time, but ultimately they decided it was for the best. Then about six months later or so they decided to meet for dinner to say hey and catch up. Things started off friendly enough and by week two they were completely dating again!
With a new found love and respect for each other, they vowed to never be apart again and Matt asked Liz to marry him a few months later. On August 11, 2018 that’s exactly what they did. They read matrimonial vows in front of their closest friends and family on a boat in the gorgeous San Diego harbor. I am so honored that I was there to capture all of the joy and love these two share for one another.
The ceremony was filled with so much fun and laughter thanks to their amazing friend and officiant, Katrina Zimmerman. By the end there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! I have some tissue here if you need it. I remember going through the pictures from their wedding day, and thinking, they just look so happy to be together. Here’s to Liz and Matt, wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
