CORONADO ISLAND
Kristy and Justin had the most beautiful Coronado Beach Wedding and I feel so incredibly honored that I got to be a part of their special day! First of all, how cute are these two?! Second of all, how cute is their little family?! Third of all, I got to wear flip flops the whole time! That is seriously a wedding photographer bucket list goal of mine and my feet were so very happy all day. Thank you Kristy, I will love you forever for that! Ha! Seriously though I LOVED this wedding so much. Like SO much. I had all the feels, all day. Kristy did such an amazing job planning all of her wedding details, from the Monstera leaves, to the hexagon arch, to the personalized name pieces at each table setting. She was such a gorgeous bride, so very sweet, and such an incredible joy to photograph. Kristy and Justin are that couple that you wish you could photograph all the time, especially in ooey gooey Golden Hour light!
One of the many cool things about being a wedding photographer is all the vows you get to hear. I’m a sucker for vows. I tear up at EVERY.SINGLE.WEDDING. Kristy and Justin’s wedding was no exception. Especially when one of them starts to tear up, forget it! One of things I loved about Justin’s vows to Kristy was, he promised to get dressed up and take pictures with her two times a year and that’s it. Ha! The inner photographer in me leaped out with excitement! I get it, dudes hate getting dressed up and taking pictures, but they do it because they love their ladies and know that it makes them happy. Awww. This made Kristy giggle and later as I was taking pictures I had to ask, “So Justin, is this one of your required photo commitments for the year?” and he replied with, “Nope, this is a freebie!” haha, man I just love these two!
Another thing I really loved about their wedding day was when we hit a little wedding snafu right before the ceremony. You read that right, I loved a wedding snafu! I don’t think a photographer has ever uttered those words. Ever. The wedding rings and marriage license were kind of, sort of, left back at the hotel room on accident and no one realized until right before the ceremony was about to start. Whoops! One thing you quickly learn about weddings is they rarely ever go as planned. Kristy was such a great sport about it and everything actually worked out perfectly because while we were waiting on the rings and license, we got extra picture time! The inner photographer in me also leaped out with excitement at this too!
The guests were all having such a good time hanging out at the beach, playing cornhole and taking selfies, I honestly don’t think they even noticed! The other really great thing about this was the wedding ceremony ended up happening right at sunset…cue more tears! That’s the thing beach wedding dreams are made of! Everything ended up turning out perfectly. Kristy and Justin’s wedding will always hold such a special place near and dear to my heart. Here’s to Kristy and Justin and a future full of unplanned romantic sunsets…
