SOLANA BEACH
We pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves during this entire anniversary portrait session on the beach and I was all about it! Jill and Mike are just the best. We had so much fun playing in the waves and taking pictures. I mean really, when is that ever not fun?! I feel so lucky to live in San Diego and have such gorgeous places to photograph people all time. Some photographers hate shooting on the beach, I personally love it! I really love movement in photos and the waves always create that perfect motion, and while the light can definitely be tricky, it’s unlike anything else.
I actually just met Jill the weekend we shot this session! She was in town from Texas to be a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding AND also be the wedding photographer. You read that right! So Jill needed a second shooter to help out when she needed to actually be in the pictures and couldn’t photograph them so we tag teamed! It was such a beautiful wedding and I can’t wait to share pictures from that soon. I absolutely loved working will Jill. We meshed instantly and were already laughing non-stop like 5 minutes into knowing each other. Jill has such a great eye for photography and it was truly an honor to be her second in command for a day!
I’m bummed that Jill and Mike don’t live closer, but I’m also so happy that I got to meet them and spend time with them, an entire weekend in fact! What a treat! It’s always such a joy for me to shoot couples. Nothing makes me happier than celebrating the love between two people. Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to weddings and couples photography. I loved watching Mike make Jill laugh with the waves crashing around them. It was so romantic and so San Diego! What a great way to celebrate 6 years of life, love, and happiness. Here’s to you Mike and Jill! So happy to know you two and call you friends now!
