SAN DIEGO
Jackie and Jared’s Balboa Park engagement is hands down one of my favorite sessions of all time. Balboa Park is the perfect backdrop for romance. The history, the architecture, the beauty…it was made for lovers. If you spend any amount of time with Jackie and Jared you can just see the love these two share is just effortless. I would be changing a roll of film, look up and they’d just be sharing the sweetest moment together. Then I’d have to exclaim, “Wait for me you two! Don’t move an inch!”
Besides Jackie and Jared being the best couple, this was the first engagement session that I photographed on film. I used both medium format film and 35mm film alongside digital. The film tones just make this session. It really brings out and hilights the beauty of Balboa Park. Everything about this session was just absolute perfection. In photography, light is everything and wow did we luck out in the light department! I mean it’s so good I could eat it!
THE WEDDING
I always tell Jackie and Jared that I could photograph them all day long! Well, spoiler alert, I actually did photograph them all day long on their wedding day! You can see more of their beautiful day right here! Jackie and Jared were a Covid-19 couple and they had to completely replan their entire wedding in a month! As you can see, they did an amazing job!
Balboa Park will always be one of my favorite places in San Diego. It’s where I would have gotten married if we hadn’t eloped! Like I said it’s the perfect backdrop for romance. Some of the most beautiful weddings I’ve seen have been Balboa Park weddings. There is just something so romantic and magical about its beauty. This Balboa Park engagement session will always hold a special place in my heart.
