SUNSET CLIFFS
It’s obvious why Sunset Cliffs in San Diego is such a popular spot for proposals, its scenic and romantic views of the Pacific Ocean at sunset are quite breathtaking. With its stunning sunsets, rocky cliffs, and serene atmosphere it makes the perfect backdrop to profess your love and devotion to that special someone. And that’s exactly what Amanda did when she proposed to Ramona on this gorgeous day in September. I immediately fell in love with these two and was so incredibly honored to get to capture such a beautiful moment for them. There is nothing I love more than celebrating women in all walks of life. I feel called to beautifully document their stories and Amanda and Ramona were no different.
If you remember earlier in the year I photographed Kalee and Zach’s Sunset Cliffs proposal and that was breathtaking as well. Since then I’ve photographed two more for a total of four Sunset Cliffs proposals! How amazing is that!?! I have so many tips and tricks down now, so if you’re planning a Sunset Cliffs proposal here’s a little proposal recipe for you…(I was once a food blogger, can you tell?)
THE PROPOSAL
A recipe for a romantic and heartfelt cliffside proposal, gather your ingredients:
Step One – A breathtaking location: A cliffside with a stunning view of the sunset or ocean would provide a beautiful and memorable setting for the proposal.
Step Two – Sprinkle in a little surprising the partner: The proposer could arrange for the partner to arrive at the location under the guise of a romantic sunset picnic or walk, and then get down on one knee at the edge of the cliff.
Step Three – Combine personal touches: Adding personal touches such as a handwritten poem, music, or photos can make the proposal even more special.
Step Four – Mix in a heartfelt speech: The proposer could express their love and commitment, highlighting what makes their partner special and why they want to spend the rest of their life together.
Step Five – Open the ring box: The proposer could present a ring, either in a box or placed on a string or ribbon, and ask the partner to marry them on bent knee.
Step Six – Add a dash of celebrating together: After the proposal, the couple could enjoy a romantic dinner or celebrate with friends and family, toasting to their future together.
